On Monday, the Liberal government is planning to introduce legislation that will dictate union representation for all health care workers. This government has rejected a fair and reasonable proposal that was developed by all four unions. Instead, government will legislate all health care workers into bargaining units that will be represented by a union of the government/mediator’s choosing.
Union representation is a fundamental human right. Even if the government refuses to work with the unions cooperatively, at the very least, workers affected by this restructuring should have the right to decide which union will represent them in the future.
This legislation will drive health care and public sector workers out of Nova Scotia at a time when we’re facing shortages in many areas.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Please take a moment and send a message to your MLA, the Minister of Health, and Premier
2. Join us for a rally at the Legislature in Halifax on Monday!
