The Local 45 bargaining committee exchanged bargaining proposals with your Employer on Wednesday, January 27th. We have further negotiating dates scheduled on February 3rd, 4th and 8th.
Your bargaining committee thanks all those who completed the online bargaining survey, as those responses provided important information and feedback that was used in the preparation of our proposals.
A copy of the proposals have been emailed to the members. If you are a Local 45 member and did not receive a copy, please contact the NSGEU Resource Centre at email@example.com. We proposed a number of improvements including increased severance pay, new temporary assignment pay, new standby pay and increased sick leave. The employer tabled a number of concessions including overtime being given as time off rather than pay, increasing probationary period and restricting the tuition fee waiver to only full time employees. Both parties tabled language regarding transfer to the Public Service Superannuation Pension Plan subject to information sessions and a majority vote of employees to transfer.
