McNeil’s Movers’ Radio Advertisements

Good morning,

We have released two radio advertisements today, as part of the McNeil’s Movers campaign that was started in the Fall.

Our hope is that these advertisements will help raise public awareness of the value and importance of our registries, and the work that our members do as part of these services. We need to keep the pressure on to ensure government decides to recognize the value of keeping our registries in public hands.

These radio advertisements will be playing province-wide, starting today, on many radio stations. You can also hear them online here: &

Yup, selling a monopoly makes sense. Especially when it actually makes money. Our land registry is the best in Canada even without the improvements that should be made.

I’ve been hearing these commercials and I totally support NSGEU in doing them. The public has a right to know. Nova Scotians have a right to these jobs. It’s a Nova Scotia service and should stay in Nova Scotia. Nova Scotians deserve good jobs, with pensions, help care and decent wages. What does the government want? All its people to be picking apples or working at Tim Hortons? Both necessary jobs and no shame in filling them but for cripes sakes, would a job that helps us raise a family, have home security, happy healthy citizen be asking for too much? It’s not wonder our educated work force is leaving the province.
