Bargaining Update: Proposals Tabled!

Your Bargaining Committee exchanged bargaining proposals with the employer’s Committee on October 30, 2015. We are scheduled to resume bargaining on November 9th and are discussing more dates.  .

Thank you to all those members who completed the online bargaining input survey. The participation from Local 81 members was very high. Your feedback was important in the development of our proposals.

The tabled proposals were emailed to local members. If you are a Local 81 member and did not receive a copy, please contact the NSGEU at 902-424-4063.

The Employer’s proposals include wanting to discuss processes around overtime, vacation, and injury on duty. The Employer has proposed once again to reduce the summer hours for employees.

The bargaining committees will begin with discussion housekeeping matters and other matters considered non-monetary before proceeding to discuss items considered as cost items. Neither side has tabled a wage increase.
