Government Budget Consultations

Date/Time

Feb 05, 2015 - 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Venue

The government is beginning a round of public consultations on their next budget which is likely to be released in April.

Information sessions begin at 6 pm and table discussions from 7-9 pm

We encourage NSGEU members to attend these meetings if they live in the area. Tell the government representatives at the meeting about the important work you do for Nova Scotians every day. Let them know the value of the services you provide.

You can also point out that public employees pay taxes and spend their money locally which supports the private sector in communities across the province. Investing in a strong public service supports the private sector and a healthy economy.

Meetings are being held at five (5) locations and times across the province until Feb. 23:

All meetings begin with a come-and-go, open-house-style information session from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. there will be world-café-style table discussions. Participants can attend either or both.

You can also submit your general comments until Feb. 28 in English or French via email to taxreview@novascotia.ca or by mail to:

Tax Review
Department of Finance and Treasury Board
Box 187
Halifax, NS B3J 2N3
