Local 87- Parkland At the Lakes Access to Community Vaccination Clinics
Dear members of Local 87, Parkland at the Lakes,
We are pleased to partner with your Employer on the following joint communication:
Parkland recently shared the good news with you that employees who work in Parkland communities have been given priority access to community vaccine clinics. Information has also been provided to all Parkland at the Lakes team members about how to book your appointment and we strongly encourage you to take part to protect yourself and others.
Together, both the NSGEU and Parkland fully support your participation in these vaccine clinics. This is an important step toward preventing the virus from entering our communities and a future without the daily threat of COVID-19.
Residents have already begun attending clinics to receive their first dose of the vaccine which adds another layer of protection for them, their families and our community as a whole, but we must all do our part.
We understand you may have questions and concerns about the vaccine. A question and answer page is available on www.shannex.com and two, half hour information sessions will be scheduled for later this week with Lisa Martin, RN, the Occupational Health Team Lead for Parkland at the Lakes. We encourage you to attend one of these sessions for an opportunity to hear about the vaccines and ask any questions you may have. Details for these sessions will be sent early this week. Should you have any questions after these sessions, please reach out to your family physician.
Upon leaving your first dose appointment, you will be issued a slip with vaccination information for your health provider along with your second dose appointment. Please be sure to report this second appointment date and time with your manager.
In the meantime, if you have any additional questions ahead of these sessions, please reach out to your manager.
Signed, Jason MacLean, President, NSGEU and Catherine MacPherson, Senior Vice President, Operations, Shannex
