Local 29 – VON Nova Scotia Branch (Client Services) Bargaining Update

Your bargaining committee completed a second day of conciliation yesterday, Monday, December 12. This follows our first day of conciliation, October 28, where we saw some success.

Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the Conciliation Officer, we were unable to come to an agreement on some of the outstanding key non-monetary and monetary items. At the end of the day, the employer tabled their final offer.

The next step is for an information session and vote to be scheduled where the members will vote on the employer’s final offer.

The committee is recommending rejection. 

We are in the process of setting up the information session and a vote for a date early in the New Year. There will be further communications once the details have been confirmed.

The bargaining committee appreciates your patience and support throughout this process. They realize this is not good news as we are getting close to the holidays and are disappointed they were unable to reach an agreement they could recommend at this time.
