STATEMENT: Regarding Violent Incident at Charles P. Allen
STATEMENT: Violent Incident at Charles P. Allen
We are deeply disturbed to hear of the violence that unfolded at Charles P. Allen High School yesterday, March 20, 2023. We have learned that two of the victims were staff members at the school – one of whom is an NSGEU member.
Violence has no place in our schools, which are also many people’s workplaces. Every student and worker has the right to learn and work in safe environment, and to have the reasonable expectation they will return home unharmed at the end of the school day.
Our thoughts are with the victims of yesterday’s incident, and we are offering our support in any way that may be helpful.
