Volunteer for the North American Indigenous Games
The NSGEU is pleased to let you know that we are partnering with the North American Indigenous Games Host Society to support volunteers and athletes by offering our main office in Dartmouth as a training and accreditation centre for the games happening in July.
The games are July 15 – 23, 2023. The NSGEU will be offering storage and volunteer space for NAIG Host Society beginning June 15th. We are also offering our Conference Centre as a training space in the building.
As a part of this partnership, we are encouraging all our members to volunteer to help support the athletes here participating in NAIG. For over 40 per cent of the athletes, from across the country, this will be their first time outside of their communities. The goal of the NAIG Host Society is to recruit and train volunteers so the athletes are surrounded by a caring supportive community while they are here.
The events are taking place in Kjipuktuk (Halifax), Dartmouth and Millbrook First Nation but you can still volunteer if you live in other parts of the province.
Every volunteer will undertake training which includes cultural training and volunteer training. When you register, you will see options for training. The NSGEU is hosting training on May 24 in our conference centre at 255 John Savage Avenue in Dartmouth. There is a choice of two sessions during the day or in the evening.

On March 31st, we held a press conference here at the NSGEU office announcing our partnership. You can read our press release here.
Our Human Rights Committee has been involved with this partnership and is working to support this initiative.
We hope to see you there!
