Local 111A & B – Kendall Lane Housing & Hants Community Homes and Victoria Park Guest House RRSP Information Session & Vote Scheduled

There will be a vote held next Friday, September 1st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Windsor Community Centre (78 Thomas Street, Windsor).

The vote is being held to see if members of Local 111(A)/Kendall Lane Housing & 111(B)/Hants Community Homes and Victoria Park Guest House want to make retroactive RRSP contributions they are entitled to, dating from April 1^st, 2021 to March 31^st, 2023 that were not deducted at the time.

In two Memorandum of Agreements, one for Local 111A and Local 111B, signed November 2020 and effective April 1^st, 2021, RRSP deductions and contribution matching payments were supposed to increase to six (6) per cent of regular earnings. You should have contributed an additional one (1) per cent, an increase from five (5) per cent, for the period of April 1^st, 2021 to March 31^st, 2023. The employer would also have matched this amount.

As these deductions were not made, this vote is being held to see what members would like to do.

Your NSGEU Employee Relations Officer, Natalie Hillier, and Local President, Yolanda Slaunwhite, will be in attendance at the meeting to go over how the employer has agreed to facilitate this and to answer any questions that you may have before voting. You may drop in to the session at any time between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to get the information and cast your ballot.
