Local 97 Strike Vote Results!

Dear Local 97 member,

Members of your bargaining committee and mobilization committee met in front of the Halifax Infirmary today to count your strike vote.

The members have voted overwhelmingly in support of strike to back your key bargaining demands, with 90 per cent of ballots cast in favour.

Your bargaining committee is very grateful for your unwavering support: these results clearly demonstrate that you are willing and ready to stand up and fight for your patients’ safety and your own rights!

We are still planning to meet with your employer with the assistance of a conciliator on March 17^th, 18^th and 25^th. We are hopeful that the government and your employer will finally have the courage and integrity to listen to their own frontline workers.

Expect to see more bargaining updates from us shortly, as well as an invitation to a telephone town hall meeting later this week.
