How Did Bill 1 Affect You?

We realize that our members working in the acute health care system have gone through a lot of stress as a result of the Liberal government’s Bill 1. While we are all tired and eager to move on from the turmoil of the past six months, it’s important that we tell this government how their attack has affected us all.

Today, the government has amended Bill 1 to allow for the Health Council structure agreed to by all unions, the government, and employers. The newly renamed Bill 69 is currently winding its way through the Legislature, which reopened today.

I would like to encourage you to sign up to speak at Law Amendments committee, so you can tell our politicians how their interference has affected you and the health care system as a whole.

We aren’t yet sure when Law Amendments committee will sit, but you can call 902-424-8941 and add your name to the speaker’s list. You may be contacted on short notice to come to meet with the Committee, and you will probably get 5-10 minutes to speak.

It is important that they hear from you as front-line healthcare workers!

Keep in mind, this may be your last chance to speak to politicians publicly about this very important issue!
