Local 29-VON Canada Bargaining Update: New Collective Agreement & Retro Pay

The union’s final review and feedback of the updated collective agreement was submitted to your employer yesterday. We have heard from many of you with questions and concerns regarding the timing of your retro pay and implementation of wage and shift premium increases. We have asked your employer for this information, specifically:

1. When can members expect to receive their wages, premiums, and retro pay once a date of signing has been confirmed by the parties?
2. Will the employer consider paying the retro on an off-cycle payment and not with the regular biweekly pay?

We have also requested the employer reach out to the funder as soon as possible given that the items agreed upon in bargaining were effective the date of ratification, and not the date of signing. The union will send another update once we a response from the employer.
