Local 29 – VON Nova Scotia Branch (Client Services) Bargaining Update: Upcoming Information Session

We appreciate your patience with the bargaining committee as we have worked through this round of bargaining. As you are aware, we completed our second and final day of conciliation on Monday, December 12^th, 2022. At that time, despite the efforts of the Conciliation Officer, your bargaining committee was unable to come to an agreement with the employer on some of the outstanding key non-monetary and monetary items. At the end of the day, the employer tabled their final offer.

Since that time, the bargaining committee has continued to work on your behalf, addressing some key issues that were identified by the membership. With further strategizing, the bargaining committee is in a position where we are prepared to share the employer’s final offer with you with a recommendation of acceptance. If you are a member of Local 29 and would like to review the offer, please contact the NSGEU.

We have scheduled a virtual meeting for the bargaining committee to review this tentative agreement with the membership on Tuesday, April 4^th at 8 p.m. (you will receive an email invitation to this meeting earlier that day).

An electronic ratification vote will begin Wednesday, April 5^th at 8 a.m. and conclude Thursday, April 6^th at 4 p.m. Please keep an eye on your email for further information about the electronic voting process and vote results.

The bargaining committee appreciates your patience and support throughout this process. This was a challenging round of bargaining and the committee continued to advocate for the membership throughout the entire process.

As we will be voting electronically, we are aware that members may not be able to access their VON email addresses when not at work. If you are receiving NSGEU communications via your work emails, please contact the Resource Centre to provide your personal email to ensure your ability to vote.
