General Meeting

Please mark your calendar to attend your next local meeting on Tuesday, May 3rd, 7:00 p.m. at the West Side Community Centre.

On April 3, civil service welcomed new members from IT Services in the NS Health Authority, and three new members to Local 2. We extend a special invitation to these new members to join us and become engaged with their new union.

ERO Dustin Rioux, and the local executive would also like to extend a special invitation to our members working in Department of Community Services Offices and any seasonal workers of the local, as they are getting ready to return to work for another season. We would like to hear any concerns either group may have that need attention from your union.

This will be the last meeting before our triennial convention, so it is your opportunity to give your local delegates direction on selecting a new executive, as well as issues that they will debate on your behalf on the convention floor. And, at each convention donations are made to charitable donations or special causes, and your delegates would appreciate your input on the amount they will be authorized to donate.

This will also be the last meeting before a new local executive is elected in June, so information on the executive offices that we will elect will be available for anyone who might want to consider offering for a position.
