Local 97 Important Meeting
Date/Time
Apr 16, 2015 - 7:00 PM - 9:00 PMVenue
On April 1st, 2015, the government’s restructuring of the health care system came into effect, with the creation of the new Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) and the IWK remaining its own separate entity.
This will mean a number of significant changes to the NSGEU’s existing acute health care locals (Locals 19, 42, 89, 90, 91, 93, 94, 95, 97 and 246). Locals 22 and 23 at the IWK will remain as they are under a different employer than the new NSHA, although some classifications will be transferred out of those locals. The 10 remaining locals will be restructured into four locals: one for Nursing, Administrative Professionals, Health Care and Support Services.
A very important meeting for each local will be held between April 14th to 30th to discuss your new local structure and to elect your new bargaining committees.
It is very important that you make every effort to attend your meeting. Thank you!
