The NSGEU Women’s Issues Committee presents a webinar on women in politics: the barriers, the opportunities, and the challenges COVID creates related to a she-covery and she-session.

Panelists include:

  • Kendra Coombes, MLA for Cape Breton Centre. Prior to her election to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly in March 2020, she served on Cape Breton Regional Council, representing District 11 since the 2016.
  • Becky Kent, Municipal Candidate for District 3, HRM. Becky is a former MLA for the Cole Harbour-Eastern Passage electoral district.
  • Donna MacGregor, Municipal Candidate for District 10, Municipality of Pictou County. Donna is a member of Local 71C.
  • Dawn Peters, Municipal Candidate for Ward 2, New Glasgow. Dawn is a member of Local 122.
  • Kim Sheppard, Municipal Candidate for District 12, CBRM. Kim is a member of Local 104.
  • Iona Stoddard, Municipal Candidate for District 12, HRM. Iona is a member of Local 7.
  • And an introduction by Vicki Smallman, National Director of Women’s and Human Rights for the Canadian Labour Congress.
