Civil Service Bargaining Update: Relief Memorandum of Agreement Signed
In late October 2015, the union and your employer agreed to defer negotiation of the Relief Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to a subcommittee.
This particular MOA is an agreement between the employer and union that outlines what qualifies as relief work, how these workers are scheduled, and what benefits they qualify for. In certain sectors of the Civil Service, this MOA has been problematic. Because of the complexity of this issue, both sides agreed to negotiate any changes for this MOA at a side table.
These negotiations are now complete and the Relief MOA has been signed (please see attached). It will come into effect starting May 1st, 2016.
We would like to thank the members of the Relief MOA Subcommittee for their diligent work on this issue.
If you have any questions about the Relief MOA, please contact us by calling 902-424-4063 (toll-free 1-877-556-7438) or emailing inquiry@nsgeu.ca.
