Housing Locals: UPDATE: Union Continues to Push for Two-year Rollover Contract

As you are aware all impacted unions, and your employer had three days before the Labour Board in December. The main outstanding issue remains union representation moving forward. The Labour Board will issue a decision as to how members will be represented and bargain with the employer in the future. All the material is now with the Labour Board but there is no firm timeline on when they will make their decision.

In the meantime, your colleagues in the civil service have already ratified their new collective agreement and been paid their retroactive pay, your managers have been given pay increases, yet you are being forced to wait.

The cost of living continues to put pressure on your budget, yet you have received nothing.

The union has proposed a two-year roll over of your contract. This would ensure you receive wage increases and not suffer any further undue hardships while you are being forced to wait.

There have been letters sent to the CEO of NSPHA, along with the Minister of Housing, looking for our members to receive this rollover. Your employer has since reached out to the Union looking to enter into discussion on the matter. There are ongoing discussions, but we are in early stages to see if your employer would be agreeable to a rollover.

Please continue to monitor your email for further updates as they become available.
