Local 1995 – Cape Breton Regional Police – Negotiations Moving Forward

The union is mailing you a copy of the proposals which were tabled during the opening day of negotiations on Tuesday, February 4th , 2014.

These proposals were developed by your Bargaining Committee after careful consideration and analysis of the input from the membership.

Negotiations continued on February 5th, 6th & 12th and for the most part, discussions were amicable, although there were some contentious moments.

Despite this, a number of items both monetary and non-monetary were agreed upon, but other proposals of significant importance remain outstanding.

During the last day of negotiations the union tabled a wage proposal. The employer has responded and those discussions are ongoing.

Negotiations are set to resume on February 18th & 19th, and we are hopeful that a collective agreement can be conclude within a reasonable time frame.

Your Bargaining Committee thanks you for your continued support and encourages you to look for future updates as bargaining continues.
