Bargaining Update

Good afternoon,

Talks between the union’s bargaining committee and your employer reached an impasse on Thursday, June 2nd.

There were some outstanding issues the union could not agree to, which we plan to discuss during the next local meeting. This meeting will be held at the Nova Scotia Hospital’s Hugh Bell Lecture Hall on Wednesday, June 15th from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The union also informed your employer that we do not believe that Local 24 Crothall Services falls under the Essential Services Act, and therefore the employer will have to file an application to the Labour Board to challenge the union’s interpretation of the Act. We will explain what this process will look like during the meeting next Wednesday.

Your bargaining committee remains committed to achieving the best collective agreement possible for all members of Local 24.
