Local 30 – Digby/Clare Home Support Society – 100 % Rejection Vote

At an emergency meeting on Thursday, February 20th, you have overwhelmingly rejected the employer’s final offer by 100%.

The conciliator will be filing his report on Monday, February 24, 2014.

Once the conciliator has filed his report, a 14-day countdown is triggered, after which a legal strike can be held. The 14-day period is also called a “cooling off period” for both sides

Often the conciliator will call both sides back to the table during these 14 days in a continued effort to reach an agreement.  Every effort is made by your Bargaining Committee to reach a tentative agreement before taking legal strike action.

We must also give the Minister of Labour and Advanced Education a 48 hour notice of our intention to exercise our right to strike.

The bargaining committee would like to thank you for your continued support.

If you have any questions about the bargaining process or next steps, please contact the NSGEU (inquiry@nsgeu.ca, or 902-424-4063, or 1-877-556-7438) or a member of your bargaining committee.
