Local 50 – Sherbrooke Restoration Commission Bargaining Update: Employer Presents Final Offer

Dear Local 50 members;

The parties exchanged proposals on July 5th, and contract negotiations resumed yesterday, July 19th. The Employer presented their final offer today, July 20th, and unfortunately, the parties were unable to conclude a collective agreement.

In their final offer, the Employer moved away from their initial wage freeze of 0% over a 4 year term to the following:

0% April 1, 2016

0% April 1, 2017

0.5% April 1, 2018

0.75% April 1, 2019

0.25% March 31, 2020 (last day of the contract).

Additionally, the Employer proposed a wage reclassification for a number of individuals although that would not take effect until March 31, 2020.

Negotiations, scheduled for tomorrow have been cancelled and no new talks are planned.
