Local 56 – Shannex, Blomidon Court Expression of Interest Process & Application

During the last round of negotiations your bargaining committee negotiated a new way for permanent employees to obtain positions within the bargaining unit.  Appendix “B” requires the employer to create an expression of interest process for that purpose. We recently met with the employer to firm up the details of the process and finalize the form, which is attached below.

As noted in Appendix “B” (click here to view and download), members may express an interest for a change in rotation, change in status (FTE), or a change in shift (e.g. 8’s or 12’s) within their classification. Please make note of the submission and amendment dates. Your first submission must be made no later than September 14, 2014. If your preferences for a position do not change, it is not necessary to submit a new form during the next submission period.

We are hopeful this process will allow for vacancies to be filled much more efficiently and give members the opportunity to work their preferred areas/schedule without having to go through a lengthy process.
