Local 71 Chiqnecto Central Regional School Board – Negotiations Moving Forward

On March 18th and 19th, your Bargaining Committee met with the Employer at the School Board office in Truro to continue negotiations for a new Collective Agreement. Progress was made on some issues, and extensive discussion took place on staffing issues. The Union and the Employer are scheduled to meet again on Tuesday, April 2nd. We will see how talks go that day before scheduling any more bargaining dates.

The Union remains guardedly optimistic that a new collective agreement can be finalized soon, as negotiations have been moving along fairly well so far, but we will be in a better position to inform you after the conclusion of bargaining on April 2nd.
