Local 82 – NSCAD – Tentative Agreement Reached

The union and employer exchanged bargaining proposals on September 9th, 2013, and continued negotiations on September 17th, 18th and 19th.  The parties booked additional time on September 25th and 26th and finally reached a tentative agreement on September 26th.

Your bargaining committee is recommending members vote in favor of the tentative agreement.

Information meetings and voting by secret ballot will occur on Thursday, October 3, 2013 as follows:

11 am to 11:45 am – Port Campus

12 pm to 3 pm – Granville Campus

Rooms to be confirmed

The tentative agreement includes a three (3) year agreement with the NSGEU including: university sector wage increases; improvements to layoff and recall procedures; severance pay; standby pay; a commitment to reviewing the current job evaluation plan; among other improvements and changes.

Chief Negotiator, Tina Webber, and your bargaining committee will be at the meetings to give a presentation on the tentative agreement.

It is very important that you attend one of the above meetings to raise any concerns or ask any questions you may have.
