Local 87 Parkland at the Lakes – Information Sessions & Strike Vote Scheduled

Despite six days at the bargaining table, there are many key issues left outstanding, and your employer has still not proposed a wage package.

As we have previously notified you, your bargaining committee has filed for conciliation. Your bargaining committee now needs your support going into conciliation. You can show that support by giving them a strong strike mandate heading into this process.

We will be holding a drop-in information session and strike vote on Monday, April 22nd at the Sobey’s in the Penhorn Plaza (551 Portland Street, Dartmouth). The information sessions will start at 3 p.m. and run until 8 p.m., and you are welcome to drop in at any time to ask questions. A strike vote will also be held, and you will be able to cast your ballot at any time between the hours of 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. President Joan Jessome, Chief Negotiator Grant Vaughan, your Employee Relations Officer Lori Smith, and your bargaining committee will be in attendance to explain the process and address any concerns you might have.

Please plan to attend. This will be your opportunity to ask any questions you may have and to cast your ballot.

If you have any questions, please contact a member of your Bargaining Committee, or the NSGEU Labour Resource Centre at 424-4063 (toll free 1-877-556-7438), or email us at inquiry@nsgeu.ca
