Local 97 – CDHA Nurses – Essential Services Update
The first meeting between the Union and your Employer took place Monday, April 28, 2014.
Your Employer did not provide a “proposed plan for maintaining essential health or community services in the event of a lockout or strike” as required by the legislation, either in advance or at the meeting.
Instead, they provided a document outlining “normal staffing” for the majority of nursing units/work areas.
However, we have agreed to the following dates to continue negotiations on the appropriate level of staffing during a strike or lockout: May 8, 9, 16, 21, 23 and 28.
The Employer has committed to send a document on Monday, May 5th outlining what services and functions they feel they need to be provided during a strike or lockout.
Please watch for further updates.
The union representatives on your essential services committee are:
- Shawn Fuller
- Linda Power
- Karen Ferguson
- Trish MacDonald
- Robert Chisholm
- Kerri Webster-McIsaac
