Local 97 – CDHA Nurses – Conciliation Breaks Down

After just one day at the conciliation table, the employer came to the table at 4:18 p.m. to advise the bargaining committee that they have no intention of bargaining on an article-by-article basis while the union has nurse to patient ratios on the table.

It is obvious that your employer is not prepared to deal with patient safety issues in spite of the fact there were nearly 40,000 patient safety reports filed in the past two years.

The bargaining committee will be holding info sessions for you and these dates are already set:

When: Wednesday, March 19th
6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where:  Lord Nelson (1515 South Park Street, Halifax)
 
When: Thursday, March 20th
10 a.m. to noon
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Where: NSGEU office (255 John Savage Avenue, Burnside)

President Joan Jessome, Chief Negotiator Linda Power and members of your bargaining committee will be present to answer any questions you may have.

It is very important for you to attend to find out about next steps. We look forward to seeing you then.
