Local 119: Special meeting for all trades, maintenance, and engineers
Good afternoon,
As you know, your employer made an announcement yesterday regarding government’s plans to redevelop the QEII. This includes the eventual decommissioning of part of the Victoria General site and the construction of five new health care buildings in the Halifax area.
The new health care buildings will be constructed using a P3 model, which is concerning to us as proponents of a publicly funded and run health care system.
As such, we are holding an important meeting with President Jason MacLean for trades, maintenance, and engineers who currently work at the QEII. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 10th at 5 p.m. at the NSGEU conference centre (255 John Savage Avenue, Burnside). Pizza will be provided!
Please make every effort to attend: it is important that we are united on this important issue!
We would appreciate you letting us know if you plan to attend by emailing Kim Clarke at kclarke@nsgeu.ca.
In solidarity,
Gina Boyd
Employee Relations Officer
