After two and a half days of bargaining, your bargaining committee went through the conciliation process on September 10th.
We are disappointed to tell you that we still have no recommended tentative agreement to bring back to you, as your employer’s last offer contained two concessions that would diminish some of your current entitlements of employment. We have now applied to negotiate an essential services agreement as required by Bill 37, legislation introduced by the Liberal government this spring.
We are currently scheduling a conference call town hall meeting for your local, as well as all members at the Halifax and Truro and Pictou sites, to discuss this important issue and next steps with you.
Please make sure we have your current email address and phone number on file: call us at 902-424-4063 (toll-free 1-877-556-7438) or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Watch your email and our website next week for the upcoming conference call meeting information. It is very important you make every effort to participate.
