Antigonish – Members of NSGEU Local 88, St. F.X. support staff, have voted in favour of rejecting the employer’s last offer.
“Our members are looking for some headway on two issues most important to the membership; wages and the classification process,†says Joan Jessome, President of the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union. “The majority of the members stand firmly behind their Bargaining Committee’s efforts to achieve an agreement that contains improvements in those areas.â€

The union has asked the conciliator will file his report with the Department of Labour and Advanced Education on Friday which triggers the 14-day countdown to a legal strike date. Â This would be 12:01 am on March 8.
