Arbitrator’s Decision To Be Released Friday
Good afternoon,
This Friday (February 20th), arbitrator James Dorsey will release his decision on the labour component of the Health Authorities Act (also known as Bill 1). Part of that decision will be Mr. Dorsey’s determination of which health care unions will represent each of the groupings of workers (Nursing, Clerical, Support Services, and Health Care).
The unions and government are scheduled to receive Mr. Dorsey’s decision by 9:30 a.m. on Friday. That decision is under an embargo until 11 a.m., which means we cannot share the information with you until then.
We realize the past few months have been very difficult for you: we’ve all experienced a great deal of uncertainty as this process has unfolded.
We would like to invite you to come to the NSGEU office at 11 a.m. on Friday so we can go through Mr. Dorsey’s decision with you, in person. If you are unable to attend, we plan to record this meeting and will share this video in an email update to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your ongoing patience and support throughout this process.
In solidarity,
Joan Jessome
President, NSGEU
