Join Us for the Halifax Pride Parade, July 26 and Cape Breton Pride Parade, August 9

Dear NSGEU members:

NSGEU’s Human Rights Committee is inviting you to participate in the annual Pride Parade and float decoration on July 26 in Halifax and the Pride Parade on August 9 in Sydney.  The parade is one of many events that take place during Pride Week in Halifax. Click here for more information about Halifax Pride Week.

The Nova Scotia Federation of Labour is the overall sponsor of the float and is inviting all affiliates to participate in the float building and decorating.

“The Pride Parade is an opportunity for NSGEU members to come together with other unions in support of diversity and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Intersex issues,” says Tammy Gillis, Chair of NSGEU’s Human Rights Committee.

In Halifax: We will be decorating the float on the morning of July 26th at 9am at the Parade starting area where Upper Water Street meets Cornwallis Street (CFB Halifax Parking lot on Valour Way).

If you are interested in building the frame of the float, people are meeting at Ace Towing on the Prospect Road just past Exhibition Park on Friday July 25, 2014 at 6pm.  All are welcome to assist.  No drill or saw refused!

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you there!

In Solidarity,

NSGEU’s Human Rights Committee
