Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy is a fun 5km fundraising walk to help support families affected by workplace tragedy. It’s a unique way to educate your community about the devastating ripple effects of a workplace tragedy and how we can work together to prevent others from being injured or killed on the job.

There is a walk happening in Halifax at Point Pleasant Park on Saturday, April 30 – Registration is at 9am and the walk begins at 11am. Please see this link:

One Response to Steps for Life Walk – Sat. April 30, 2016

I am a volunteer with Threads of Life as a Speaker and past Steps for Life Co-Chair.I became a volunteer as a result of my father,Ron Garland, being diagnosed with Mesothelioma as a result of his repeated exposure to asbestos while working as an electrician. He was diagnosed in May 2011 and died December 18th the same year.losing dad has been the most heartbreaking and devastating thing I have had to go through. This preventable disease is horrible and my heart breaks every time I hear of some else getting this diagnosis.Threads of Life has helped my mother and I work through our grief and loss and has encouraged me to find my voice to speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves.Workplace safety is so important. We need our loved ones to return home safely at the end of the day
Your support for this wonderful organization is greatly appreciated.Thank you!
