Voluntary Redeployment Within Long-Term Care
Dear members,
We have been advised that your employer sent a communication out to all employees outlining their plans to create three designated care areas (DCAs) for residents with COVID-19, and that they are asking staff to volunteer to work in Regional DCAs based on a number of criteria.
The NSGEU would like to emphasize that this redeployment process is COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY on the part of staff. No member is being forced to go to another facility. If they do volunteer, their pay and benefits will be continued, and they will be able to claim expenses for travel, meals, and accommodations.
If you have questions or concerns about the redeployment process, please contact the NSGEU by calling 902-424-4063 (toll-free 1-877-556-7438) or emailing inquiry@nsgeu.ca.
