Fundraiser Gala October 22, Doors Open 6pm, Italian Cultural Centre

Our keynotes speaker is the fabulous Nora Loreto. Nora Loreto is is the author of From Demonized to Organized: Building the New Union Movement (2013), and a contributor to Canada After Harper (2015). She writes regularly for magazine, blogs and online news sites. She lives in Québec City with her partner and their toddler twins.

We are very excited to announce that this year’s gala will be emceed by documentary filmmaker Jackie Torrens. Many of you will know Jackie from her recent documentary My Week on Welfare, which was broadcast on CBC. We are also thrilled to welcome author and activist Nora Loreto as our special guest speaker. Loreto’s book From Demonized to Organized: Building the New Union Movement is published by CCPA.

This year’s gala will also include a silent auction.

Your ticket includes a delicious Italian meal (a vegetarian option is available) at the Italian Cultural Centre in Halifax. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated, but we require advance notice — please contact marydan@policyalternatives.ca by October 16 if you have a special request.
