Health Administrative Professionals Bargaining Update: Proposed Wage Formula Calculations

We understand some members are having difficulty figuring out what the wage proposals will mean for them. Since there are so many classifications in this bargaining unit, and you are all at different places in the pay scales, we are providing a formula to help you calculate where these proposed wage increases would place you by the end of the collective agreement.

FOR THOSE CURRENTLY EARNING MORE THAN $20/HOUR:

Take your current rate of pay: $_____

Multiply by 1.015 = $______

Take that new amount and multiply by 1.015 = $______**

Take that new amount and multiply by 1.03 = $______

Take that new amount and multiply by 1.005 = $______

Take that new amount _______ and add $0.80 = $______ (effective Nov. 1, 2023)

Take that new amount and multiply by 1.03 = $______ (effective Nov. 1, 2023)

Take that new amount and multiply by 1.02 = $______ (effective Nov. 1, 2024)

Keep in mind, if you are not currently at the top of your pay scale, your amounts would likely actually be higher than this calculated value, because as time passes, you will move up in your pay scales.

**If your top step rate of pay is less than $20 per hour as of October 31, 2022 (i.e. after the application of the two 1.5 per cent increases), then you add a dollar to your rate and continue the calculate the economic adjustments as outlined above.

Here are some examples of pay adjustments:

Classification Name Rate of pay effective Oct. 2020 (this rate is in effect today) Rate of Pay Nov. 1, 2023 Rate of Pay Nov. 1, 2024
