Local 38 – Tentative Agreement Ratified

The Bargaining Committee for Local 38, Northwood Homecare, is pleased to announce that on January 31, members voted 80% in favour of their tentative agreement. The Committee thanks the membership for their support throughout the bargaining process.

The new collective agreement has a two-year term from April 1, 2010 – March 31, 2012. The union will be working with the employer to prepare a copy of the new collective agreement and arrange for a signing date as soon as possible. The signing of the new collective agreement triggers the process for the employer to provide members with retro pay. In this case, retro pay would date back to April 1, 2010.

As you are aware, this collective agreement has already expired. As soon as it is signed we will be making preparations to elect a new Bargaining Committee and get right back to the bargaining table. Please watch for further Local meetings and bargaining updates.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a member of your Bargaining Committee or the NSGEU Labour Resource Centre at 424-4063 or e-mail us at inquiry@nsgeu.ca.
