Health Care Bargaining Unit: Bargaining Update, Tuesday, June 22, 2021

Good afternoon,

Members of the Nova Scotia Healthcare Council of Unions met today to discuss next steps. As we outlined in our last member update, your employer has refused to provide bargaining dates to the Council, but we have conciliation dates scheduled for June 28th, 29th and 30th.

The Council has now taken the additional step of writing to Premier Iain Rankin and Minister of Health & Wellness, Zack Churchill, to formally request that any issues that cannot be resolved during the conciliation process be referred to an arbitrator. You can read a copy of that letter here.

We will be sure to keep you apprised on the response we receive and what our next steps will be.

If you have any questions or concerns about the bargaining process, please contact a member of your bargaining committee:
