Health Care Bargaining Update Important Information Session Scheduled!

Good afternoon,

As you are aware, the Healthcare Council of Unions is preparing to enter Conciliation with the Nova Scotia Health (NSH) and IWK next week (June 28th, 29th, and 30th).

Since the employers have refused to reschedule bargaining dates that were cancelled by them at the outset of the third wave of COVID-19, we are entering the Conciliation process with quite a few outstanding items. While we are hopeful that we will be able to resolve many of these issues with the assistance of the Conciliation Officer, further actions may be required to reach a fair and reasonable agreement with the employers.

We will be holding an important telephone town hall meeting to discuss the progress made during Conciliation and what our next steps will be on Wednesday, June 30th starting at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be hosted by NSGEU President Jason MacLean, your Chief Negotiator, Shawn Fuller, and members of your bargaining committee.

Participating in the Telephone Town Hall is easy. We will call you approximately 5 minutes before the call begins on the phone number you have provided to the NSGEU. At any time during the call, if you have a question or wish to make a comment, please dial *3. After speaking to an operator, you will be put in a queue where you will be able to ask your question or make a comment live.

If you are in the Health Care Bargaining Unit and would like to attend the Town Hall watch for an email from us or call the Resource Centre for instructions at 902-424-4063 or email inquiry@nsgeu.ca.

If you have any questions or concerns about the bargaining process, please contact a member of your bargaining committee:
