Local 55 – Workers’ Compensation Board Members Overwhelmingly Reject Employers Final Offer
NSGEU Local 55 has voted to reject the employer’s final offer.
This has been a difficult round of negotiations. While the union came to the table seeking the standard Civil Service wage increases, the employer responded with a large package of concessions that would roll back existing rights and workplace provisions.
Your bargaining committee will now return to the bargaining table in earnest to seek a fair deal.
NSGEU President Sandra Mullen has written to the WCB Board of Directors to raise serious concerns about the current state of bargaining.

In addition, we have become aware that the employer has sent an email to all unionized staff announcing an end to mod days. The Union is currently working with legal counsel, and we will send an update tomorrow outlining our response.
