Message from President Jason MacLean
Dear members,
We have sent the following letter to Premier Iain Rankin, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Robert Strang, and Tracey Barbrick, the Associate Deputy Minister of Community Services and COVID-19 Immunization Strategy requesting they change the vaccine rollout program to ensure frontline workers are protected during this third wave of COVID. You can see a copy of the letter here.
We are seeing case numbers higher than ever before, and many public-facing workers – including NSGEU members – have not yet had an opportunity to receive even their first vaccine. Given the important role, you have played in ensuring Nova Scotians are safe and able to access important public services, we felt it was time to speak up and ask the government to ensure you are in turn protected.
Thank you for the important work you continue to do at this very stressful time.
In solidarity,
Jason MacLean,
President, NSGEU
