National Day of Mourning, Tuesday, April 28. 2020

We are in unprecedented times. Now more than ever we need to ensure our workplaces are safe and our friends and colleagues are protected. The NSGEU will continue to fight to ensure all workers are protected from harm while on the job

On Tuesday, April 28th Canada will observe a Day of Mourning to remember our brothers and sisters killed or injured on the job, and to re-commit to making our workplaces safer for everyone.

Due to the current circumstances, there will be no in-person ceremonies, however, the Canadian Labour Congress has created a web page for us to share our stories:

The Nova Scotia Federation of Labour will post a Day of Mourning video on April 28 at 11 am on their Facebook Page. The NSGEU is urging all members to observe a moment of silence to remember the workers we have lost.

In solidarity.

Jason MacLean

President, NSGEU
