NSGEU Supports Families Impacted By Wildfires With Donation to Red Cross

Today, the NSGEU Board of Directors approved a $5000 donation to be made on behalf of our membership to the Red Cross to support families impacted by the wildfires.

This donation will help support the thousands of families impacted by the current wildfires taking place around the province.

In addition, the Government of Canada has agreed to match every dollar donated to the Canadian Red Cross Nova Scotia & Atlantic Canada Fires Appeal. This means that the NSGEU donation will have double the impact.

The NSGEU knows that some of our own members are currently evacuated from their homes and waiting for any news about their properties and family homes. This contribution will help support our communities as they rebuild from this terrible emergency.

The Board of Directors, on behalf of our membership, is proud to stand in solidarity with Nova Scotians as we come together to face more adversity. Together, we comfort those in need and rebuild our homes and communities to what they were before.
