Five years in a row!! NSGEU donates $6,000 to Christmas Daddies
NSGEU Board of Directors endorses motion to donate $6,000 to Christmas Daddies in lieu of holiday advertising
Dear NSGEU members,
Everyday you work to improve the lives of Nova Scotians. In this spirit, for the fifth year in a row, the Board of Directors endorsed a motion to take funds that would have gone towards holiday advertising and donate them instead to Christmas Daddies. This year NSGEU is donating a total of $6,000 with $4,000 for NS Mainland and $2,000 for Cape Breton.
Christmas Daddies was chosen as our recipient charity because it is available to all Nova Scotians and easily accessible. All families on income assistance receive an application form for support from Christmas Daddies. If you are not on income assistance, Christmas Daddies support can be accessed through either Feed Nova Scotia or the Salvation Army.
This donation, made on your behalf, will mean a great deal for families who need support during the holiday season. It also reflects our ongoing commitment to social justice and making a difference in our communities across the province.
