Bargaining Update: Tentative Agreement Ratified!

Congratulations to all members of Local 48 on the ratification of the tentative agreement!

We had an excellent turnout for the vote: 83% of the Bargaining Unit cast ballots, and 76% of these ballots were in favour of accepting the tentative agreement. Your Bargaining Committee and employer will now work to prepare your new agreement for printing and ultimately distribution to the members.

I want to take this opportunity once again to thank the members of the Bargaining Committee who worked very hard during this round of negotiations and represented you well at the negotiation table. I would also like to thank the members of Local 48 who attended information sessions, asked great questions, and participated in the voting process.

I’m looking forward to working with you as we go forward into 2015.
