Sherbrooke Village Old Fashioned Christmas – reminder – this Friday, Nov. 29 – Sun., Dec. 1

Dear members,
Sherbrooke Village Old Fashioned Christmas is held every year in Sherbrooke, on the eastern shore of Nova Scotia (click here for the google maphttp://bit.ly/1dNmkFR).
NSGEU members of Local 50 work in the village as weavers, potters, sawmill operators, administrative assistants, gardeners, groundskeepers, wardrobe supervisors, interpreters, carpenters, blacksmiths, and ambrotype photographers, and more – bringing the past to life.
This year there are old fashioned Christmas events being held on  Friday, November 29th, Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1. There are old fashioned Christmas dinners, radio plays, Victorian teas scavenger hunts for kids, wagon rides, and much more.

NSGEU member Robert Jordan-Robichaud led a scavenger hunt for little wrapped candy canes during last weekend’s old fashioned Christmas. The local decorated the door of a village house where pottery is made. There were wagon rides and a wonderful ham supper. It’s worth the drive to Sherbrooke.
