Special Convention!
As you have probably seen, the NSGEU announced last week that we are holding a special convention in Halifax on Monday, June 2nd.
The purpose of this special convention is so members from throughout the union can discuss the challenges we are facing under this new government: their attack on all workers through essential services legislation, and their planned amalgamation of the district health authorities.
Three hundred elected delegates from across the province, representing all sectors, will gather to help determine what our next steps should be, moving forward as a united group of members!
Each Local will be holding an emergency meeting over the coming days to elect who will represent them at this convention. If you are interested in attending, please make sure you go to this meeting! If you have not heard about any meeting for your local, it is important you contact your Local president, or give us a call at 424-4063 (toll-free 1-877-556-7438) or email inquiry@nsgeu.ca to find out more.
With enormous changes and challenges ahead of us, it is critical that all Locals have a say in where we are headed as a union, together.
In solidarity,
Joan Jessome
President, NSGEU
