November 11 – We Remember.

From one group of public service workers to another: We remember.

Each year, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Canadians take a moment to pause and pay tribute in memory of the thousands of men and women who have sacrificed their lives in military service for this country.

The NSGEU would like to extend the gratitude of its executive and membership on this day, and say – from one group of public service workers to another – that we recognize their fight for the values and freedoms we enjoy today.

We have a duty to remember and show our respect for the people who have served, and continue to serve, our country during times of both conflict and peace.

Regional Councils of the NSGEU are laying wreaths in many communities across the province on behalf of the membership and in honour of those who have sacrificed their lives and served in military service for this country including: Metro “A”, will be laying the wreath for the Metro Region at the Remembrance Day ceremony at Grand Parade; Metro “B” will be laying the wreath at Sullivans Pond in Dartmouth; Cape Breton will be laying a wreath in Port Hawkesbury and in New Waterford; in Cumberland/Colchester, wreaths will be laid in Tatamagouche and Amherst; Pictou/Guysborough/Antigonish Region will lay their wreath in Sherbrooke this year; Valley Region will lay the wreath in Kentville.
